Talkback UK is dedicated to helping young people with a learning disability or with autism to develop their skills, get the best education, and find a career that works for them.

Talkback UK provide autism and learning disability support and service programmes in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas.

Employability

Talkback's employability programme is designed to provide meaningful outcomes, offering detailed support at every step of a person’s employment journey, always helping them reach a destination that is right for them.

For some people, their aim will be a full-time job. For others, a part-time job or volunteer work will be what they want. Discover more about Talkback's employment support.

Post-16 specialist provision

Read all about Talkback's post-16 specialist provision programme, which is designed for young autistic people, or those with a learning disability who possess an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and are trying to decide where best to go after leaving school.

Mission Employable: Supported Internships

Mission Employable aims to get young people with learning disabilities into paid employment. They are based on the South Bucks border and support young people with an EHCP between 18-25 years from anywhere in the local area, including High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Marlow, the Chalfonts, Amersham and Chesham, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, and more.

Supported Internships Film

The National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) have just premiered their new short film: 'Supported Internships for Young People' - showcasing real experiences, ambitions and impact. Featuring Emma Stone, Karla Harriott and Rebecca Davies, the film shares what they are proud of, how supported internships have helped them, and why working is meaningful to them. The short film embodies the core values of the Internships Work programme and sends a clear message: all young people want to work, can work, and have always had the potential within them - they simply need the right support to unlock it. Employment support for autistic people

The Ambitious About Autism website offers a range of employment support to young people aged 18-25, including their Employ Autism programme.

From group workshops and webinars to one-to-one meetings with experienced Employment Coaches, they can help you develop your skills and confidence so you can access employment opportunities in supportive environments. Learn more about Ambitious About Autism here.

Alternative Learning

Alternative Learning is for people who, for any reason, feel unable to study within the standard college setting. Alternative Learning creates opportunities for those who have learning disabilities or autism to access accredited training with a view to helping them into part-time or full-time work.
