Future of STEM Research Competition 2026

High Performance Engineering

Are you passionate about science, technology, engineering or maths? The Future of STEM Research Competition gives young people aged 14–19 the opportunity to investigate a real-world problem, research potential solutions and present their findings.

Participants can choose a STEM-related challenge that interests them, develop their research and showcase their ideas to a panel of judges, including academics and professionals.

The competition offers:

  • A share of a £375 prize fund

  • The opportunity to explore a STEM topic of personal interest

  • Valuable experience for future applications and personal statements

  • Judging by academics and industry professionals

  • The chance to gain direct entry into LEAF Courses' 2026 Fall Cohort

Who can take part?

Young people aged 14–19.

Entries close on 15 August 2026.
