Careers inspiration for 4,500 people at Bucks Skills Show

The Buckinghamshire Skills Show 2022 was a fitting in-person return for the county’s pre-eminent skills and careers show.

Across March 9th and 10th, at the first Skills Show since 2019 to be held in-person, over 120 businesses and 4,500 people walked through the doors of Westcott Venture Park for two days of careers inspiration.

A great mix of students, young adults and people of all ages looking to change career path all visited to learn about the 120+ businesses and organisations exhibiting, including Pinewood Studios, Google, MetroBank, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Cliveden House, Cisco, Buckinghamshire Council and Satellite Applications Catapult.

Organised by the Buckinghamshire Skills Hub, the event was another great success, following on from a virtual Skills Show in 2020. The venue was a fitting one, with Westcott Venture Park synonymous with excellence and innovation, while the event was a hit on social media as well as at the venue.

It was all about #BucksSkillsShow on social media!

Marina Jackson, from Buckinghamshire Skills Hub, said: “The Bucks Skills Show is the largest careers inspiration event in the county and keeps growing each year, as seen by the runaway success of this year’s event at Westcott Venture Park. It was really heart-warming to see the excitement of all of those in attendance as they met businesses from a wide range of sectors, as well as education providers, gathering information about their potential next steps.”

Marina added: “Whether it’s students planning for their future, young adults looking to take their first big step into work, or people of any age wanting to change career paths, our goal is to help every individual find what is right for them, whether that’s higher and further education, training, apprenticeships or employment.”

The Bucks Skills Show was delighted to have the Rothschild Foundation funding this year’s event.
