Independent and Work Ready work experience

Independent and Work Ready offer funded virtual WEX placements from age 14 to post-25 plus. They particularly encourage participation from young people with learning difficulties from entry level. Participants follow an adapted-as-needed work brief to design a product which will be sold to support the service. They learn about design, manufacturing, laser engraving, market research and much more - all pitched at the right level for them.

Some examples of products are bags, hoodies, mugs and water bottles. Students get a replica of the product they design, get to use professional software and contribute to the website. They also get a certificate.

For more information go to the website: https://independentandworkready.co.uk/ or to book a Teams session to find out more, email Karen Yates at independentandworkready@gmail.com
