Grants Available to Support the Teaching of Greek in Schools

Schools across the UK can apply for funding to support projects that promote the teaching of the Greek language and subjects related to Greek civilisation. The grants are provided by the Hellenic Society and can be used for a range of activities, including the development of new Greek language courses, books and teaching materials, classics days and conferences, Greek plays, and summer schools for pupils. Applications from schools planning to introduce new Greek courses are particularly encouraged. Most grants range from £100 to £500, although larger awards may be available in some cases. Applications from individual pupils or teachers are not normally considered, but institutions may apply for funding to provide bursaries at their own discretion. The next application deadline is 1 October 2026.
