Work Experience at Martin Baker Aircraft

High Performance Engineering

During the upcoming May half term, Martin Baker are looking for ten budding Engineers to take part in their Work Experience programme. During this time, students will deal with real-life problems that their Engineers face on a daily basis and help them come up with solutions to these problems. Students will be able to shadow Engineers and learn about Martin Baker Aircraft as a business.

  1. Martin-Baker has been the world leader in the design and manufacture of ejection and crashworthy seats for over 70 years

  2. In total, through their work, they have saved 7,600 lives overall - this has learnt them 11 Queen's Awards!

  3. It was Captain Baker's death in a plane crash that spurred his Engineering friend and business partner Sir James Martin to focus on pilot safety.

  4. M-B have roles in Testing, Training, Pyrotechnics, Logistics and more!

  5. M-B offer 'Year In Industry' placements as well as summer placements for students after Sixth Form.
