Music with Will Farmer

Creative Industries
The annual Bucks Skills Show helps young people explore careers and work out how to get there. But 2020 was different: instead of the usual face-to-face format, we streamed live inspirational employers into lessons to show how they use curriculum subjects in their every-day job.

This interactive live lesson in Music explores composing to film and composing with technology with Will Farmer - a freelance musician.

Will is a composer, orchestrator and musician working around the greater London area specialising in bespoke music for film, television, radio, podcasts and games. Combining classical training with a love of jazz, Will has been commissioned in a variety of genres ranging from full symphonic scores through to intimate piano, slow swing ballads and electronic-hybrid soundtracks. Past work has been featured on national radio, marketing campaigns, podcasts, short films, animations, and production libraries. Will graduated from Royal Holloway, the University of London in 2019 with First-Class Honours in Music and the prize for Best Submitted Dissertation. In 2020, Will completed his Masters in Composing for Film and Television at the University of Bristol alongside contributing to musicology conferences.
