Free Portfolio Review at Fluro Ltd

Creative Industries

When you’re at the beginning of your career as a graphic designer, illustrator or motion designer, creating an eye-catching portfolio can often feel like the biggest barrier between you and your first agency job. We’ve all been there, and we understand the challenges of putting together a body of work that will get you noticed.

As a creative marketing agency, we want to support students and those navigating their first year out of college, by offering a free portfolio review for local designers. This opportunity will give you the chance to:

  • Send us your portfolio

  • Have it evaluated by senior members of the Fluro team

  • Chat with one of our senior members in the studio (or via Zoom) about your portfolio and any other questions you have about getting a start in the creative sector.

In the meantime, we’ve put together some tips that might help you on your way. We asked our team of designers what advice they’d give to their younger selves, at the time in their development where you find yourself right now.

1)    Never stop asking why

Evaluation skills are invaluable and will serve you well for the rest of your career.

2)    Practice makes perfect

Develop your skill and the discipline to ‘show up’ for all kinds of work, not just the fun stuff.

3)    Curation is key

Learning to select and share your very best, most relevant work, shows you understand the value of self-editing.

4)    Get competitive

Entering competitions will you create from a prompt and to a deadline and provides an opportunity to benchmark your work.

5)    Always be learning

We’ll never know everything, and we can always get better. Let’s all be humble together.
