The Telegraph’s Media Literacy Programme provides an insight into what it’s like to be a journalist at an award-winning multimedia news brand. The programme is open to 16-18 year olds across the UK. It highlights the importance of trusted and accountable news and equips you with some of the tools and skills to think critically about world events. The programme will help you understand the different roles in the newsroom and provide information on how to get a career in journalism.

What to expect

Online sessions with a range of journalists from departments across the business including news, sports, beauty, music, and social media. Each week, you will get the chance to practise skills such as headline writing, interviewing and travel writing.

When

The online programme will run for four weeks, beginning on Tuesday 4th March 2025. Sessions will run from 4 - 5 pm every Tuesday.

Completing the programme

If you take part in all four sessions, you will receive a Telegraph Media Literacy Journalism Certificate. You will also have the option to join our future talent pool to stay up-to-date with entry-level opportunities at the Telegraph.
