Who needs a town crier when you’ve got us shouting “Bucks Skills Show is back!” from the rooftops? On Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th March, over 120 businesses across a range of sectors will gather in Stoke Mandeville Stadium for our annual experiential careers fair. That gives you just over a month to bag a free ticket (parents can take students between 16:00 and 20:00 on the Wednesday) and get acquainted with our brilliant sponsors who help make the whole thing possible.

Roll call…

Buckinghamshire College Group

Who are you?

We’re a Further Education College offering a wide range of vocational courses, from part-time study programmes to apprenticeships. You can find us across a range of sites in Aylesbury, Amersham and Wycombe – all boasting specialist and professional equipment, including salons, studios and workshops.

Why sponsor Bucks Skills Show?

Buckinghamshire College Group are proud to be associated with such a vital event for the young people of our county. Packed with possibilities, the show allows us to connect with anyone who may be aware of our colleges but is not sure what’s on offer or where a course can lead them.

What can we expect from your exhibit?

A lot! We’ll be dotted around several areas with information on all our courses, as well as special interactive demonstrations. Whether you want to take the tyre change challenge, play our giant operation game, or test out gory prosthetic make up, we’re sure to have something that will capture your imagination.

Align

Who are you?

Align is a joint venture of three international, privately-owned infrastructure companies: Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick. Together, we (all 2,500 of us) deliver high-profile infrastructure projects like Phase One of HS2 – the UK’s new high-speed railway.

Why sponsor Bucks Skills Show?

Being part of the largest infrastructure project in Europe, we feel we have a responsibility to inspire the next generation of Construction and Infrastructure professionals – that’s you!

What can we expect from your exhibit?

We’re really looking forward to talking to young people about the exciting things happening on their doorstep. Innovative new technology, engineering firsts, finding new ways to reduce carbon footprints…

Flannery Plant Hire

Who are you?

With around 1,700 operators and 200 office employees across nine depots, Flannery Plant Hire is one of the UK's leading Plant Hire companies. That means we provide machinery for construction projects across the country.

Why sponsor Bucks Skills Show?

Flannery have supported Bucks Skills Show for several years now as we love being able to engage with future talent. It’s also a great opportunity to spread the word about the Construction Plant Operator Trailblazer Apprenticeship.

What can we expect from your exhibit?

This time round, we’ll be bringing our Mobile Training Unit so students can experience operating a digger or driving a dump truck in state-of-the-art simulators. Up to the challenge?

EKFB

Who are you?

EKFB brings together several international civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners specialise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of HS2. Our patch links the Chiltern Tunnel in the North Chilterns with Long Itchington Wood in South Warwickshire.

Why sponsor Bucks Skills Show?

Bucks Skills Show provides us with a platform to promote the fantastic career opportunities available at EKFB, from groundworker apprenticeships to office-based roles.

What can we expect from your exhibit?

Our team will be on hand to answer any of your burning questions about our opportunities and hopefully inspire the local community to join us on this journey.
