Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy: 2023 Events

Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy supports local residents into employment at the airport. They are currently advertising more than 90 roles on the Heathrow Academy website across a diverse range of sectors including retail, hospitality, ground handling, airlines, construction and passenger services.

Candidates who apply for these roles will be invited to attend a one-to-one information, advice and guidance session with a member of the Heathrow Academy team, who will provide CV and interview support, including mock interviews where required.

In 2022, the Heathrow Academy supported more than 800 individuals receive employment offers at the airport.

Heathrow Academy open days

In 2023, the Academy will be running monthly open days for any local jobseeker interested in working at the airport, where they can speak with a member of the Academy team to find out more about the exciting employment opportunities available. As part of these open days, jobseekers can drop in at any time to understand more about the vacancies and the eligibility requirements.

• Friday 14^th April, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 12^th May, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 16^th June, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 14^th July, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 18^th August, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 15^th September, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 13^th October, 13:30 – 18:00

• Friday 17^th November, 13:30 – 18:00

Heathrow Careers and Essential Skills workshops

The Heathrow Academy’s essential skills workshops give jobseekers everything they need to confidently make an application to join the thousands of people who turn up every day to the buzz and excitement of playing their part in giving passengers the best airport service in the world.

The Academy’s half-day workshop gives jobseekers an insight into the:

• History of the airport

• Job roles available right now

• Essential skills and behaviours needed to succeed

• Application process and support available

A number of employers also offer guaranteed interviews for individuals who complete a workshop.

Heathrow Academy webinar programme

In 2023, the Academy will also continue with our successful live webinar programme, where airport-based employers talk about their vacancies, the skills needed for success, and answer questions from viewers. In 2022 the webinar programme received excellent feedback, with more than 4,000 views over the course of the year.
