Fairhive Homes: welcome to our new Bucks Skills Hub sponsor

We are delighted to welcome Fairhive Homes as an official sponsor of the Bucks Skills Hub.

In doing so, it has committed to helping shape the future of Buckinghamshire and providing work and training opportunities for local young people and the wider community.

We spoke to the team at Fairhive to get their thoughts.

What does it mean to Fairhive to become a Bucks Skills Hub Sponsor?

"Becoming a Bucks Skills Hub Sponsor reflects Fairhive’s commitment to investing in communities we serve across Buckinghamshire. As a local housing provider and employer, we recognise that access to a safe and secure homes, as well as access to meaningful employment are both fundamental in building communities that thrive. Through sponsorship, it enables us to help in connecting local people with pathways into work, particularly within the housing and property sectors where there is a growing need for skilled talent."

What commitment does this represent to young people and career seekers across Buckinghamshire?

"This sponsorship demonstrates our determination to support people, no matter their background, into sustainable and rewarding careers. We are committed to creating opportunities through apprenticeships, work experience, graduate roles and entry-level positions, as well as providing personal development tailored to an individual’s strengths, for those looking to develop long-term careers. Beyond recruitment, we aim to help young people understand the breadth of roles available within housing, from trades and technical services through to digital, finance, customer experience and community engagement. We want local residents to see that they can build rewarding careers while making a positive difference in their own communities."

How much are you looking forward to being a part of the Bucks Skills Show in March?

"We always look forward to the Bucks Skills Show. It is an excellent opportunity to engage directly with students, parents and educators, showcase the variety of career paths within Fairhive, and highlight the social impact of working in the housing sector. This year we will have colleagues from across the business, including operatives and apprentices, that will be able to provide their experience so far. We are particularly keen to speak with individuals who may not previously have considered housing as a career option and to demonstrate how diverse and innovative the sector is."

What advice would you give to students ahead of attending the Bucks Skills Show to make sure they get the most out of it?

"It’s absolutely fine if you don’t have all the answers now, approach the event with curiosity and confidence. Take the time to speak to as many organisations as possible, ask questions about different roles and career journeys, and explore options you may not have considered before. Think about your interests and strengths in advance, and how these might translate into a future career."

About Careers at Fairhive

"At Fairhive, our work goes beyond housing; we are committed to supporting thriving communities. This means we are always looking for people who share our values and want to make a tangible difference. We offer a wide range of career pathways, structured development opportunities and a supportive working environment where individuals can grow and progress. For anyone interested in a career that combines professional development with social impact, housing is a fantastic option!"
