Free Asda School Programmes for Schools and Colleges
Asda is offering two free nationwide programmes for the 2026/27 academic year, providing young people with the opportunity to develop valuable skills through project-based learning.
Delivered through a flexible virtual platform, each programme provides schools with lesson plans, instructional videos and supporting resources for use throughout the academic year. Students work on meaningful real-world challenges while developing skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and leadership.
Asda Heroes Programme
The Heroes Programme is designed for:
Years 3-5
SEND provisions
PRUs
Alternative Provision settings
Students explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop a project that creates a positive impact within their local community. Resources are provided each half term, allowing schools to deliver activities at a time that suits them. Local Asda stores may also be able to support projects through donations.
Key dates:
Staff launch event: 23 September 2026 (virtual)
Project submissions due: 4 June 2027
Virtual national final: 9 July 2027
Asda Leaders Programme
The Leaders Programme is designed for:
Year 10 students
Year 12 students
Students investigate real business challenges using Asda's ESG report, before developing innovative and profitable business solutions. Teams receive support from an Asda colleague mentor and work through a structured programme covering business analysis, solution development and presentation skills.
Key dates:
Launch event: 14 October 2026 (virtual)
Mentor introductions: November 2026
Business plan submissions due: 4 June 2027
Virtual national final: 25 June 2027
