Ever wondered what it would be like to work with exotic animals? Then wonder no more. Presenting, the Zoological Society of London's Zoo Academy!...
Held at Whipsnade Zoo and designed for those aged 15-17 wishing to become vets, vet nurses, zookeepers or pursue other animal science related careers and studies, these five-day courses allow students to gain experience and knowledge in working with the Zoological Society of London. This covers aspects of caring for exotic animals in captivity, while gaining more than 15 hours practical experience. Courses are offered as Saturday courses over 5 weeks, and 5-day courses during the summer and come with a wealth of information and knowledge on how to pursue your dream career working with animals.
Supported by the education, keeping and veterinary staff, students will complete an evidence portfolio of their theory and practical work. Students will be able to keep their portfolios as evidence of their time at ZSL and hopefully use them at future university or college interviews to support their career with animals. On completion of the course to a satisfactory level, students will receive a certificate and reference statement.
The course includes
Five days at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo
Theory sessions and practical experience in the zoo
A digital ‘Zoo Academy’ portfolio and worksheets
A ‘Zoo Academy’ certificate of attendance
