Bucks Skills Show 2022 - School Bookings

We are now full steam ahead with our preparations for the Bucks Skills Show – one of the ways Bucks Skills Hub is working to help you achieve the Gatsby Benchmarks including benchmark 2, 3, 5 and 7.

The Skills Show will be taking place on the 9th and 10th of March 2022 at Westcott Venture Park. With a vibrant history and impressive reputation for innovation, Westcott are growing their reputation among propulsion innovators as the UK’s centre of excellence for global technology.

The Bucks Skills Show 2022 is an opportunity for young people to explore careers, discover different industry sectors and work out how to achieve their ambitions. From a robotic dog to augmented reality, gory stage make-up to space technology – it’s never going to be boring.

But equally, it’s an opportunity for employers to inspire the next generation and secure their talent pipeline. We know they can’t get around to all the individual schools in the county, so here’s the chance for you to meet them all in one place. This is also an ideal opportunity to discuss options with universities, colleges and training providers.

  • Who to bring: All secondary students are invited. At our last live event, some schools booked on a whole year group, while others supported smaller, targeted groups: it’s about whatever’s best for your students.

  • Get students thinking: Exhibitors will have a profile on our website here. Please do encourage your students to have a look as it would be great for them to familiarise themselves with the organisations.  We want to encourage them to come armed with as many questions as possible.

  • Logistics: There is no charge for the tickets; we only ask you to arrange transport and staff cover as you would for other external trips. Sufficient parking will be available onsite.

  • Engage parent carers: We are running a late afternoon/early evening session from 3-7pm on Wednesday 9th March for parent carers. We’ll send more information on this separately for you to promote through your newsletters and on your social media.

Please note: spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, therefore to ensure you receive your preferred time slot, please complete the booking form ASAP. The deadline for your preferences is COP 14th January 2022. We will let you know your allocated slot by the 24th January 2022.

COVID safety

We are working hard to make sure our event is as COVID safe as possible. For your reassurance, you can read below the additional measures which will be in place and we look forward to seeing you in March.

  • We have more space than we have ever had before! With 1000 m2 of marquees at Westcott Venture Park

  • As the event is in marquees, we are able to increase the ventilation through the opening of panels, windows and fire exits

  • We are halving the recommended capacity that each marquee can hold to ensure sufficient socially distanced space

  • The marquee has an organised one way system which will be marshalled

  • Everyone attending the show will be required to wear a face mask at all times

  • All attendees have staggered attendance slots to avoid crowding

  • Hand sanitiser will be on all desks

  • Additional cleaning will be in place and exhibitors will be provided with disinfectant wipes for use with their stands

  • Additional toilet facilities will be available

  • Eating will not be permitted in the exhibition marquees

  • Exhibitors and all attendees will be advised to undertake a lateral flow test each day prior to attending
